SUSIE’S SIGNATURE CHILI

bbQ & MORE Flavor Method

This chili is all about building flavor in layers. Not more heat… just more depth, richness, and that “what is in this?” finish that keeps everyone coming back for another bowl.

Using a few of our favorite bbQ & MORE products, you can turn a simple pot of chili into something truly special.

INGREDIENTS

1 pound lean ground beef

32 ounces tomato sauce

1 can kidney beans (drained and rinsed)

1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Does Steak Seasoning (used in place of garlic powder)

Good Sh*t seasoning

Aw Sh*t seasoning

Salt (fresh ground preferred)

Black pepper (fresh ground preferred)

House Seasoning from Season & Shadow

TOOLS WE LOVE

Finamill grinder (for fresh salt and pepper)

Enamel stock pot

INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1: Brown the Beef

In your enamel stock pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until fully browned.

Drain if needed.

Step 2: Build the Base

Add the tomato sauce and kidney beans.

Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 3: Build the Chili Flavor

Add 1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder and 1/2 teaspoon paprika.

This creates that rich, classic chili flavor without adding extra heat.

Step 4: Add the Garlic Layer

Sprinkle in Does Steak Seasoning in place of garlic powder.

This adds a deeper, more savory garlic flavor that blends beautifully into the chili.

Step 5: Layer the Signature Seasonings

Add 1/2 teaspoon Good Sh*t seasoning.

Add a small pinch of Aw Sh*t seasoning.

These create a bold, balanced, and craveable flavor profile.

Step 6: Fresh Grind for Aroma

Using your Finamill grinder, grind salt and black pepper directly into the chili.

Use a medium grind for salt and a slightly coarse grind for pepper.

Fresh grinding releases aroma and enhances the overall flavor in a noticeable way.

Step 7: Finish with Brightness

Add a light sprinkle of House Seasoning from Season & Shadow.

This adds a touch of brightness and rounds out the flavor perfectly.

Step 8: Let It Come Together

Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes to allow all flavors to blend.

This is where everything transforms into a rich, layered chili.

FINAL TASTE CHECK

Taste and adjust if needed:

Add a pinch of salt for more flavor pop

Add a small shake of chili powder for more depth

Add a touch more House Seasoning for brightness

SERVING IDEA

Serve warm and enjoy the depth of flavor in every bite.

Perfect with cornbread, crackers, or straight from the pot for a cozy, comforting meal.
